Hello,
I'm trying to switch over from Corel Draw to Inkscape. Based on the first experiences I have some questions.
1) I've set up the document properties to have a 1mm grid and also all units are set to mm. When I now create a circle or a rectangle the dimensions are not multiples of 1mm. How can I achieve this? Manual changing the dimensions works of course, but isn't very convenient.
The snap options are at the default levels. I also changed all to "always snap" but that didn't made a difference for me.
2) Is there an upper limit how many elements Inkscape can "import" from the clipboard. From a design mask I copied >20000 elements into the clipboard, but when I tried paste Inkscape told me that the clipboard is empty. Copy and paste of the same data worked in Corel Draw (and even into Word).
Inkscape version: 0.45.1 OS: Win XP SP2
Thanks in advance, Frank

You'll need to check some of the snapping check-boxes, e.g. snap nodes to grid (or something like that). Have you tried that? While you're at it, you might want to install a recent development build instead, as snapping has improved a lot since v0.45.1

Sounds familiar :-(. Cross application pasting isn't implemented I guess, or it is not functioning well for some reason. Does anyone know what's going wrong here or what the status and plans are with respect to this?
