Rotate Copies LPE - possible bug?
Hi Jabier and All, I found an odd behavior in Rotate Copies LPE. Whenever I choose an odd number of copies, it makes double that number. Even numbers, it makes that number. So if I choose 6 copies, it makes 6 copies. If I choose 7 copies, it makes 14! If I set to 8, it makes 8. I set 9, it makes 18. Etc.
I made a video. http://inkscapecommunity.com/jd/vids/rot-cop-lpe.mp4
Do you need the SVG file? Windows 7, 64-bit, sp1, Inkscape 0.92pre2 (exe installer, 32-bit)
Thanks, brynn
I cannot reproduce that problem using Inkscape 0.92pre2 15127 (Oct 21 2016). Could you attach the svg file? Or, better yet, try this experiment with a very simple object all by itself, so that it is easier to see what is happening.

Thanks Alvin :-)

thanks for the svg file. As far as I can tell the LPE is working correctly. The reason you are seeing this behavior is because your object has a lot of symmetry built into it, so that sometimes when you rotate it, it falls on a previous version and appears to be not present. Your object consists of two components. You have a half circle on the outside which will always fall onto itself when you replicate it, which is sort of expected. Then you have an S shape which has perfect rotational symmetry so that when you rotate it by 180 degrees, then it will fall onto itself as well. The perfect 180 rotation will occur whenever you ask for an even number of duplicates, and will not occur when you ask for an odd number of replicates, which is why the even number of replicates has fewer versions than you expected.

Oohh, I see.
Thank you very much, brynn
