Raster to Vector conversion software

What is the best raster to vector conversion software to use with inkscape on Mac osx? I am currently using Delineate but I am looking for better performance and changing the conversion settings doesn't seem to be doing it for me.

Have you tired the builtin tracing tool (potrace) it has many options and fine tuning options.
