I too want to submit a splash screen. I will do it by the end of Sunday (i.e. Jan.06 23:59, GMT +2).
I was planning to do it earlier but I kept postponing this. I hope I won't be too late (I interpreted the current deadline as 00:00 Sunday, i.e. the beginning of the day, rather than the end.)
I don't know what the cut-off time is, but ScislaC was still working on his submission last I talked with him about an hour ago, so I think there is still time. But better get it on deviantart soon! :-)
