Fill the circle with the picture, that should do the trick.

I tried this the other day, it's nice, but there are a few steps to get it right.

1. Drop the picture into the document, move it over the object and resize it so it lines up how you like it 2. Edit -> Object(s) to Pattern (Alt-I) 3. Delete the picture 4. Select the object, and assign the new Pattern as the fill.

If you move the filled object around, the pattern moves with it. If you select all the nodes and move them, it doesn't. This is quite a cool effect.

Is there a way of moving or rotating the pattern once it's in the object?
