No, I am using GNU/Linux (Ubuntu) with a very lightweight WM (wmii) and Gnome. For shure, browsing SVG-graphics with Nautilus is comfortable but that depends on the desktop you have. In my opinion a good search facility should be archieved through inkscape an /not/ by external application or desktop-libraries.
