I am having problems with my wacom intuos 3 tablet. It works on all the tools and when I go to add it, it appears to be there but I can't change any of the settings. It works in other programs like PSP ok and I have the latest driver installed.
I am using inkscape .46 and .47 and can't get it to work in either. But strangely (no idea why I tried this) the erasor seems to work ! No idea why. Can someone help me here please ?
cheers, Jo
I just realised this is not very clear, lol. It works to select the tools but I can't seem to draw or do anything with them within the working area

Do the rulers show the positioning correctly over the canvas when you use the tools?
Also, what OS are you running on?
I am using windows xp. I am not sure about the rulers showing the positioning clearly. Can you explain please ? sorry but I am pretty new at using inkscape.

If you hover over the canvas area with the pen, there should be lines that move around inside the rulers showing the position of where the cursor should be.

I was having the same problems and was about to write my own separate problem report as I didn't want to take over Joane's thread.
In trying to obtain and create more info for the problem report, I fixed the problem! Only been bugging me /broken for over a month!
Jo -- 1, make sure the mouse options have the tablet options both checked (then restart), then check under input options - and see if it lists your tablet. I couldn't assign anything for pressure or buttons at first, but I switched to eraser, and it showed options 1-5 for each of the options under the eraser (X, Y, pressure...etc). Then when I switched back to the pen under that menu (it was then configured properly (numeric options 1-5 were showing for X, y pressure for the pen stylus). For some reason, it wasn't configuring the pen, but did after I selected the eraser and switched back again (this is in the inkscape properties, under input devices, where I was configuring the Wacom tablet).
Hope this helps. -linda
