Re: [Inkscape-user] Fonts, fonts & more fonts

Gaz: That sounds like a lot of fonts. I'd use a font manager to create groups (based on style, typology, etc.) and load and unload them when necessary. Having so many fonts active will only make difficult to choose, will make applications start slower and won't help much. For linux you can use FontyPython or Font Manager

I believe FontMatrix is worth mentioning as a very good font manager on GNU/Linux systems.
The poster did mention he was on OSX -- which sadly I can't help with...

Hi all;
fontmatrix works on OSX. If there is no packages available for download on its website you can probably ask Fontmatrix main developer -- Pierre Marchand -- for it.
Best,
Alex

Thanks, I know that is a lot of fonts, hence why I move a lot to a 2nd drive. I have fontbook but I'm not sure how to get the fonts into inkscape. I thought it only used those in the /system/library/font directory (Mac OS X) and copying the fonts to the folder is kinds of what I'm doing anyway.
