New version of Alchemy is out w/ SVG support
SVG support was added to svn a little while ago, but now it's in a release. You can set your preferred vector format to SVG now instead of PDF.
I personally find it compliments Inkscape nicely.

Combine it with imagemagick and u can make some great animations
