Thanks to Bryce Harrington for the 0.46 dev build. No problems at all getting this running on ubuntu 7.10.
My only problem is with PDF import - it just doesn't exist. The package recommends installing a whole lot of things, including pstoedit, imagemagick, python-XML and more. I installed all those. The only one I couldn't install was sketch, which protests on installation because it says a newer version of skencil is already installed.
I also tried installing libcairo2-1.5.4 from the hardy package. This required a new version of libc6 from hardy, which required an uninstall and upgrade of tzdata to the hardy package, plus libpixman. Then libcairo2-1.5.4 seemed to install fine, but still no joy in Inkscape.
Any thoughts. i386 live CD version of gutsy (7.10). Just trying to figure this out for a friend. Main program running well.
Thanks,
Rygle.
