Hi Friends, There seems to be some drastic changes in the HSL tab of the Fill and Stroke dialog. I've looked through the Release Notes page, but I don't see any info. Did I just not see it? These are my questions:
The top bar used have colors from red on the left to red on the right, and every other color in between. And if you wanted precision, you could use the numbers from 0 to 255 to set the color. But now, the top bar is something else entirely. It goes from white on the left, to some 2nd color in the middle (red) to some 3rd color on the right (aqua). But *none* of those 3 colors are the color of the object (which I initially set from the palette along the bottom). If I slide the bar, it doesn't change the color I set to white, the 2nd color or the 3rd color. It sets some other odd colors. How can I adjust the color now - especially if I don't want to use the palette to start with?
There's now a new 5th bar at the bottom, under the Alpha bar. It goes from white on the left, to the middle color, which is not the color of the object, back to white on the right. Adjusting that bar seems to have no effect on the color of the object at all. Changing the number value doesn't do anything either. What is it for?
The bars on the HSL tab used to be labeled, like the bars are still labeled on the RGB and CMYK tabs. If they were labeled, it might at least give me a clue.
Thanks for your help :-) brynn
attached is a screenshot of what I am seeing on the 32 bit exe build. Is this different from yours? Which website did you get your file from, since there are at least two different sites that I have seen. I am using https://inkscape.org/en/~eduard.braun/. Whoa! I went to make a screenshot for you, after I switched my preferences file in my other message. But now the HSL tab looks just the same as I'm used to.
I even opened the same file that I had open before, but it looks just the same as normal, and with the original prefs file too.
I'll do some more work, and if I see it looking strange again, I'll get a screenshot right away.
(I got the file from the Inkscape website download page.)(https://inkscape.org/gallery/item/10169/)
Thanks, brynn

Ok, as soon as I selected an object with a gradient, then the HSL tab went funky again. I got screenshot this time. Let me know if I can help with troubleshooting.

I would suggest filing a bug report, you'll get faster response that way.

This is a problem I've seen a few times. I looked into it, but didn't find the issue.
It seems to be capable of effecting any of the colour selectors.
