I did not consider bevels specifically because I never use them in Xara. Perhaps they will fit into the same filters framework as the gaussian blur. You can search the SVG spec, it may have some provisions as to bevels. SVG compliance is a must for us, so if you suggest a feature, you'll get bonus points for explaining how it could be represented in SVG. Sure, that's to be implemented on a much closer timeframe than filters (which I'm afraid are rather distant, unless an interested developer joins us to work on them). What you refer to is bitmap fill (an arbitrary path filled with bitmap), and it actually works already, but has no UI yet. It's done for the Linux version, although the support varies depending on the window manager you use. On Windows, this trick does not seem to work properly, and we haven't had time yet to investigate the proper approach. Dialogs are unlikely to become dockable to the document window (if only because you may have many document windows, while the dialogs are supposed to be shared between them).
