Re: [Inkscape-user] svg, web pages and video.
Any suggestions?
John: Is it really necessary to make everything in SVG? It would be pretty easy to put the SVG in a div container and an html5 video player in other and make them overlap with css.

I am writing a tutorial book on using Inkscape for web page design. We all know the advantages of Inkscape. The disadvantages include:
1. Web browsers will not automatically go to an Inkscape page in the same way that they will go to index.html. I have an html solution for that problem. 2. There is no equivalent to the <forms> feature for inputting data. 3. The aforementioned problem with embedding a video. And if one just links to a video on Youtube then there is no automatic return path.
I will continue experimenting with video and Inkscape, indcluding the <foreign> method. And I will work with jessylink as previously suggested.
As you can see I am trying to push Inkscape-produced svg to the limits of its capability in the web page design so that my book will cover all applicable capabilities. Video is one.
