I'm a bit out of the loop here lately. Did the problems of landscape printing get resolved?
Currently (with V 0.46) I have to save the file as a PDF via cairo then load this into evince and print from there.

I'm a bit disappointed that nobody has commented on this :(
I think part of the problem is that printing in Windows has been broken until recently with scaling issues. These have now been resolved. Running Windows XP and Inkscape build 21345, I can print in landcsape. The only problem I can see is that the origin is offset by about one quarter inch or so. I printed the attached svg and it fit properly onto a 8.5x11 page when printed in landscape.

Thanks for these links.
While I appreciate that the devs are all working on their own time, this makes depressing reading - such a long time for a bugfix. I've never had any success compiling SVN versions so I guess I'm stuck until the next release.

You can help reduce the time it takes to fix bugs, even if you can't fix them yourself. The developers have to spend time answering mailing list queries, writing (drawing) documentation, managing about-screen competitions, and working out how to reproduce bugs that have been reported. If you can do any of these things, you can save a developer's time, which he or she can instead use to fix bugs and add new features.
And don't forget that helping out the community in that way gets you more respect, which can be traded in at a later date for preferential fixing of the bugs that annoy you.

I do provide help where I can on several projects (mostly music related), but my time is also limited as I, too, have to hold down a full-time job!
which OS are you on? there are newer builds available, for example http://inkscape.modevia.com/win32/ http://inkscape.modevia.com/macosx-snap
