Hi, I'm Robin, new on the list as of today. I'm German, and I really like Inkscape.
In a German Linux forum I saw a post this morning asking for German versions of the Inkscape tutorials, and it appears there are none - at least none that I could find. So if there are no objections, I'd like to do those translations myself, and of course make them available to the public, as a way of repaying the inkscape community for providing such a valuable program.

Hey Robin,
That would be great! It would be nice to get more translations of Inkscape. The person who coordinates the translation activities for Inkscape is Arpad Biro <biro_arpad@...12...>. You might double check with him, but I don't believe that anyone is translating the tutorials into German.
As far as putting them somewhere, if you do them, we'd love to put them in the Inkscape distribution for all the German Inkscape users. Also, I don't know what you schedule looks like, but we're probably going to have a release in the next week or two, so if you hurry we could probably get a few into this release.
Glad to have you helping out!

Hi Robin, welcome to the team!
Yes, that'd be a great addition. Translation of the tutorials should be straightforward, but please ask questions if you run into any trouble.
The finished translation should be uploaded to the Patch tracker on Inkscape's SourceForge page, and one of the devs will pick it up and commit it to the tree from there.
As you probably noticed, we name translations with the language code, e.g. tutorial-basic.de.svg
Thanks, and enjoy! Bryce
