wish - select amount of simplification of lines
Hello, I'd like to request a feature, or else, a option to a tool already in inkscape. When working with nodes, we can use "simplify path", but we cannot choos _how much_ simplification we want. It would be very very very nice to be able to do so. I don't know which algorithm inkscape uses for simplification, but if it is something like a Douglas-Peucker algorithm, it would be equivalent to select the distance to consider points to remove from the original line.
cheers
Carlos
the simplification amount can be tweaked in inkscape prefs. go to inkscape prefs > then choose the misc category and there is an option in there for simplification threshold...
hope this helps, ryanlerch

Yes, it helped, but don't you agree it would be easier if this kind of control was easier to access? like a simple slider placed in the nodes toolbar..
cheers

Yes, i agree. You could add a feature request to the bug tracker, if this is not already in the system...
