hello i have created a '.svg' file with some overlapping geometrical shapes like circles and rectangles: i need to know how to preserve transparencies when i convert this figure in eps format since all of them are lost and the figure gets no meaning anymore
btw: do you know if latex can accept figure formats other than eps?
thank you all for help -- roberto GNU/Linux, debian sarge

Are you sure that eps actually supports transparency?

I'm fairly sure it accepts eps only. You might be able to convert your svg to a bitmap, and then that into eps.
