RE: [Inkscape-user] Puzzle with a puzzle
I like the solution, Adam, it's very practical.
I was (secretly) trying to understand a bit more about the various path operations and how they can be combined.
I couldn't find a combination to get visible elements bounded by paths to be coloured - I guess it's analogous to a fill operation in a rasterised environment. There isn't a direct analogue, but hoping to find something which will do the job.

Because you have to draw them manually? You could make them a little larger than they need to be and then send them behind the black lines, but it's a little untidy.

Hi Phil
Zoom in and use the bezier tool to do straight lines and one can (at least I can) make a very neat job of it, once you have done one rectangle per face, that's it - you can copy and re-colour the rest. Send them behind the black lines if need be. At least it's a simple solution.
