Installing Inkscape on new Macbook

Hello, I just purchased a new Macbook and have installed the Universal platform version but when I open the application I get an error message saying that I need X11 to run Inkscape. When I installed X 11 from the Apple website, I get another message saying my computer has a more recent version of this software already installed. I used Inkscape on my Dell PC and I hate to give it up now that I've switched to Mac! I'm desparate to get my Inkscape back! Any advice?
Thanks!!

The version of X11 (X Windows) you need comes on your install disc. One of the grey discs that came with your computer. Put that in your Mac and go under installing additional applications. I think X11 is already checked.

Using Tomcat but need to do more? Need to support web services, security? Get stuff done quickly with pre-integrated technology to make your job easier. Download IBM WebSphere Application Server v.1.0.1 based on Apache Geronimo http://sel.as-us.falkag.net/sel? cmd=lnk&kid=120709&bid=263057&dat=121642 _______________________________________________ Inkscape-user mailing list Inkscape-user@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/inkscape-user

Thank you, thank you A THOUSAND times! Now I'm back on Inkscape and life is good again! This program is wonderful - thanks to all those who have a hand it it. And I appreciate the speedy response. xxxooo, Melissa
