Official Inkscape 0.46 OSX package for Tiger (10.4) users
Hello OSX Tiger users,
I have posted an Inkscape 0.46 package for Tiger (10.4.x) users: http://downloads.sourceforge.net/inkscape/Inkscape-0.46-2.TIGER.UNIVERSAL.dm...
This package was built complete from a PPC 10.4.11 machine, and since I do not have access to an Intel Mac running 10.4.11 it has not been tested on Intel hardware. If you have an Intel 10.4.11 machine, could you please let me know if the package works for you?
Apologies for the initial lack of Inkscape 0.46 package for Tiger users. Producing packages for older OS releases is always more difficult when the Inkscape Mac developers are no longer using that OS for their normal builds, and building Universal packages, even more so!
(Our CompilingMacOsX wiki page is currently out of date, but will be shortly updated to reflect the steps used to build these official packages.)
Cheers, Michael
Hello Michael, I just downloaded 0.46 for Tiger, I am running 4.11 on a ppc and Inkscape will not start, on the file menu it offers options of quitting or hiding. I am a new user to Mac's, so I am probably doing something wrong. I have been trying for the last four days to get Inkscape running on either my ppc or my MacPro Intel . The Mac Pro dialog box states it will take several minutes to access the fonts. I let my machine run 24/4 and nothing happened, the app did not start.
I asked for help on the group but received no answers, I intend on using the svg portion to aid me in a vinyl sign cutting hobby. Any advice for a total new mac/open source user.
Thanks in advance Larry Housell larrynedi@...483...

Hi Larry,
Could you please: 1. Start Console.app (found in /Applications/Utilities). 2. Hit the "Clear Display" button. 3. Run Inkscape.app 4. Wait a couple of minutes. 5. Report back with the output of Console.app (should show whatever error prevented Inkscape from starting).
Cheers, Michael

loads fine for me but won't import PDFs that I was able to import previously
I'm not a Mac user, but try the following stuff from a little while back; http://www.nabble.com/No-Inkscape-window-in-MacOS-10.5.2-td15509277.html
And http://www.nabble.com/0.46,-0.45-startup-problems-on-Leopard-td16141194.html
If you have any success, please put it in the bug report, and in a followup post here.
Rygle.

I found those articles again by doing the following search on google; "site:nabble.com inkscape x11"

Any word on how the Windows installer is going?
I'm getting drool all over my keyboard...
Hi Jon,
Please be patient. The pre-release was only a few days ago, and it is almost identical to what the release will be, so you should try testing the pre-release version for bugs. If you find any bugs, please report them.
There is only one extra showstopper bug that will be fixed in the release at this stage. That is our focus. If there are no other showstoppers the release will be very soon.
Rygle.

Hi Jon,
we are getting close to the new release 0.46.
There where some changes to the NSIS installer during the frost phase. Now we only do patches in order to solve the latest bugs found.
Tomorrow we publish the release.
Thank god and Rygle for the help.

In case you hadn't noticed, 0.46 stable is out now.

I tend to think God helps a lot more than me. :-)
