I've been asked to announce The Graphical Web conference to the Inkscape mailing list. This conference (formerly SVG Open) is an important conference for people interested in web graphics. The topic this year is "Visual Storytelling".

As you probably already know, Inkscape uses SVG as its native file format. I will be giving a talk on SVG 2 from the perspective of web designers and artists.
