How to export a pattern filled-shape to be imported correctly by Adobe Illustrator and Firefox
Hi!
What is the way AI and Firefox to understand pattern fills of objects, created in Inkscape? I can't achieve this, getting no fill at all when opening in AI or Firefox. I've noticed that the image itself is not embedded inside the SVG. Is there a way to embed it inside? Maybe some Inkscape options that I didn't find?
If you look in the effects menu theres an images sub menu, do "embed all images" and the linked images will get imoprted as data chunks inside the svg. Not sure if this will fix AI but they work in firefox here.
Cheers

As far as I know, pattern support was added in Firefox 3. Did you try your file in Firefox 3 alpha? Does it work there?
There is probably nothing wrong in the file generated by Inkscape, but Firefox and AI probably fail to import/view the patterns.
I am pretty sure, though that AI CS2 imports patterns fine.
