Tablet's eraser cursor not visible in Inkscape
Inkscape List,
I have a Wacom tablet, and the pressure sensitivity works great inside Inkscape.
However, things are not perfect. As anyone who has used a tablet probably knows, if you have it in "Screen" mode, then the accuracy of the stroke isn't so great. In "Window" mode, where the size of the tablet matches the size of the active drawing area, you get a much smoother line with greater accuracy.
But then in Window mode, the problem is that the location of the cursor and the location of where the line gets drawn can be different.
I've found a workaround that works in GIMP, which is to assign the eraser tip of the pen to be in Window mode, and then simply use that as the drawing device. So I can just flip the pen in my hand and use the stylus tip as my primary pointing device for selecting things and making menu choices. And then flip back to the eraser end and just use it as a pen in Window mode to get great lines.
But... there is one problem in Inkscape. When I use the eraser, there is no cursor indicating it's location on screen. It can still draw, and draws smooth, natural curves. But, not being able to see where I am until I actually lay down a line is kind of a problem.
I'm hoping that people who have tablets will know what I'm talking about, or at least can easily reproduce this. My apologies if my explanation is not clear enough.
Is there a way I can get the eraser end of my pen to have a visible cursor in Inkscape?
Or, alternately, if anyone has any suggestions on other ways to get the smooth lines of Window mode while having a usable interface, that would be good too.
Thank you for any advice.
