can't install inkscape .46 on ubuntu
Inkscape preview .46.0 will not install on Xubuntu Linux 7.10 with Synaptic after I added the lines described on the front page of the Ubuntu website.
the exact error was as follows

You've probably added the lines for Hardy (8.04) instead of the ones for Gutsy (7.10). These are the PPA sources you need:
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/inkscape.testers/ubuntu gutsy main deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/inkscape.testers/ubuntu gutsy main
You probably don't need the deb-src one if you're just going to use the precompiled binaries.

I already did use the gutsy line correctly. Still not working. Same error.
