Hi Inkscape I've been using Inkscape for a week or so pretty intensively and am realy enjoying it. Only trouble is I can't print from it through linux, have to switch to windows which does not make me so happy. Can someone tell me how to deal with a dialogue that says:
Print destination use '>filename' to print use '| prog arg...' to pipe to programe
Thanx in anticipation

Under Linux, programs use a common page description format called PostScript. To simply spit out a PostScript file to "print.ps", type "> print.ps" in the box and click Print.
You can view the print.ps file with "gv print.ps" or "evince print.ps". At least one should be installed on your system.

Or, if you use KDE with cups then just type in "| kprinter" which means "pipe the output to kprinter" (the standard KDE printer interface). Your familiar printer dialog will popup from which you can choose your printer and settings.
