It sort of already is out. You just need to download one of the nightly builds... it's in there!

Didn't notice those... thanks. I'm building from source now, but my build has some issues, it seems (image loading doesn't work). I guess I can check the latest development build to see if things like that are an issue in the code or just in my build of it. So good to know they're out there.
And to think, just a few days ago I was absolutely certain that Inkscape didn't even run on Windows.
