Hi,
I tried Inkscape. It's a beautiful program and even very simple to handle.
Well, for trial I made an apple ( http://www.hagoschaos.de/h/freunde/apfel.html ). At the end I had about 30 objects(paths), but only one layer. So it became extremely difficult, to change something on any layer down below. It became sort of a lucky chance, when I found a path which I was looking for.
So I would like to know, if there is a more professional way to deal with the paths and layers.
Regards, Hago

Hi Hago,
You obviously didn't spot the layers dialogue in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen. I only just discovered it myself! By the looks of things you have to add/remove layers from the menubar (layer -> new layer) but you can show/hide and lock layers from the dialogue. I was reading the roadmap earlier today and it seems that layer improvements and enhancements are currently being developed for the next release.

PS. This is my first post, btw. Hello group!

Thank you, I found it. In my case, the button in the menubar is called "Ebenen" and the button below "Layers". That's what made the confusion.
