I know in the gimp when you use either the rectangle or elliptical selection you are able to see what the size of the selection. Is there a way in inkscape to determine the size of lets say square or circle. Because right now it seems that I am just guessing as to the dimension even with the ruler in use.

is the size of the object not shown on the object toolbar when the object is selected?
