Anti-aliased PNG Output
Hi:
I'm using Inkscape 0.40 on Windows. Is there any way that I can make the output anti-aliased? Right now, if I do an 'inkscape -e file.png file.svg' the output looks very poor. If anti-aliased output is not possible, then can anyone suggest a technique to convert my svg to high-quality png? I've tried batik, but the output is also very poor. FYI, it renders fine in both Inkscape (indeed, it was created using inkscape) and in the adobe SVG viewer.
Thanks, Elpoca
Hi Elpoca,
Exported PNGs are properly anti-aliased on my win2k computer. Are you viewing the images in Internet Explorer or some other program that doesn't fully support PNG transparency? If so try viewing it in Firefox, GIMP, or Photoshop and see if it still looks bad. Another alternative is to open the SVG file in Inkscape and set the background to an opaque color in the document preferences. Then try exporting. I could be wrong, but I wouldn't be surprised if your problem is being caused by limited rendering of transparent pixels.
Hope that helps, Mike
