integrating new fonts in inkscape?
hi
we have a great chance to use inkscape as a batch conversion tool to create eps from svg. unfortunately we use fonts in these svg's that does not seem to be supported by inkscape.
is there any chance to (let) integrate new fonts in inkscape? inkscape does not seem to correctly display and use all fonts.
background: we're generating thousends of svg files from an xslt process. for a proper publishing we need to add bounding box information to these svg or eps image files. inkscape seems to be the best solution we've found for a task like that. it should create eps or svg with correct bounding boxes around the images. the images contain only two lines of (very) short text. the fonts we're using are a bit exotical.
any help is very appreciated.

No need to "integrate" - Inkscape just uses the fonts installed in the OS. But yes, there are problems with some kinds of fonts which it does not see. Perhaps the best thing you can do is convert these fonts to TrueType using FontForge and install the converted versions on your system, then Inkscape will see them.
Some fonts were not showing up if they had a non alphabetic character in their font names. I had heard that was fixed for the .46 version, is this true or not? The folks using it to generate DXF files have been patiently awaiting .46 release for that reason. Bibi

It is in the release notes so it should be fixed indeed. You can try a development version of Inkscape to see wether that fixes your problem or not. Downloading and installing these devel versions is super easy: http://inkscape.modevia.com/

I hope so, testing will never hurt :)

No need to wait, you can always grab a recent development version compiled for your OS.
