OT: That's only for .ttf fonts, right? Once I tried putting cmatrix.psf in ~/.fonts and doing a mkfontdir, but it didn't seem to be recognized (by xterm -fn <foo>).
I'm not sure about .psf, but both TrueType (.ttf) and Type 1 (.pfb/.pfa) fonts work for me.

i'm having serious troubles with the latest CVS's... about two days ago, the tool icons got mangled up, today, inkscape gets internal errors everytime i open anything with it.
and i was wondering, why don't you use snap-off toolbars? it's one of the most usefull features of linux widgets...

I compiled cvs from 2004-05-01[0], and it works perfectly for me.
(system == Linux harpo 2.6.4-1-686-smp #1 SMP ... i686 GNU/Linux) (distro == Debian unstable / experimental)
[0] At about 1am, Australia time. That'd be about 2004-04-30T15:00 GMT.
