Hello,
I just found this nice program. What I create from scratch seems to work fine but when I try to load SVG files created with Dia I get strange results. All text and lines get to big resulting in a big pile of text with some small boxes underneth with to wide lines....
If I open the SVG file with Mozilla (Adobe SVG plugin 3.01) my drawing looks good (only slighlt bigger text size than Dia).
Perhaps the Dia generates strange SVG files but the Adobe plug-in atleast seems to do a decent job.
Is this normal? Can I tune something someware?
/Björn

Hopefully you are using a reasonably up to date version of Dia (0.91 or greater).
As a regular Dia user I can tell you Dia definately produces some 'quirky' SVG but the developers do a very good job considering how little time they can spare to work on Dia (patches always welcome ;).
If you can identify any specific problems with Dia then please try to file a bug report in Bugzilla http://bugzilla.gnome.org

It would probably be helpful to the inkscape developers if you could attach a sample file (SVG file that is, the original Dia file might be helpful too but not essential) to a bug report in the Inkscape bug tracker at sourceforge: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=93438&atid=604306

The Adobe SVG Plugin is very tolerant of odd SVG and it will take time for Inkscape to catch up and go beyond it, they have a big headstart.
I would prefer not to make any wild guesses without having first looked at the specific file (although if I were making random guesses I'd suggest you check the numerical seperators, are decimal points being used? Inkscape has previously had some difficulty with locales that use commas rather than decimal points).
Hope that helps I wont be able to reply again until late tomorrow but hopefully if you provide the file then some one else migth be able to help sooner.

PS my slighly archaic mail program is having problems with the encoding of the message you sent any idea why that might be?
PPS #inlcude standard-disclaimer.h I try to make sure people get a quick answer to questions although not necessarily the best answer.
