I installed the static RPM for v 0.42 without any apparent problem, but when I try to run it I get the following error:
inkscape: symbol lookup error: inkscape: undefined symbol: g_option_error_quark
Version 0.41 runs without problems.
I am using Mdk v 10.1. Has anyone else had similar problems?

Yes, several people are encountering this problem. It appears to be a packaging error for Fedora. For details see this bug report:

Ah thanks for the info.
Presumably the best thing I can do is wait for a fix to be announced.
