The current inkscape-devel (Ubuntu) has a barcode facility. But it doesn't provide for the 5 digit price code often used on books next to the ISBN EAN code. Scribus does provide it as does the bookland.py online or local barcode generator. This should be easy to fix.

Also, on the latest inkscape-devel the numbers at the bottom of the EAN-13 barcode are jumbled. This could be a font problem.
