No compiled linux version of 0.44.1?
Hi,
I can't find an autopackage for the updated 0.44.1 on sourceforge. Windows and Mac versions are there, only one for Linux is absent.
Would somebody please compile an autopackage? That would be cool!

It's really pretty easy to get started making autopackages. The relevant information can be found at:
http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/CompilingAutopackage http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/CompilingStatic http://autopackage.org/devel-zone.html
The folks at #autopackage on freenode are particularly helpful. I'm available via email for help too.
Would you be interested in learning how to create autopackages of Inkscape? That would indeed be cool!
(Now here are a list of my lame excuses for not having a package ready yet. :-) Life and work are busy right now. I've just reinstalled linux here on my autopackage building machine and haven't had time to get the build environment set up. I'm a bit frustrated with the difficulties of making a really solid packages that run anywhere out of our C++ applications with C++ dependencies. There are a host of things I don't understand yet. But now that I've learned enough to compile most packages with out difficulty, I'd like to spend more of my time coding on Inkscape rather than learning about packaging.)
Help Wanted!

Since I'm going away for the balance of the week I decided to make a wonky package for you to try. By "wonky" I mean that I didn't recompile the static libs on dapper, I just copied the ones I built on breezy into place. I don't know if it will work at all.

Hi Aaron,
I installed the WONKY package and so far it seems stable.. I opened up a few .svgs and imported a bitmap (an operation which kept Inky crashing in one of the previous development versions I tried), no problem so far.

I have, so far, only compiled a handful of applications and seeing compile errors makes me cringe, but I can certainly give it a try. I'll read up on the documentation you provided links for and will get back to you.
Thanks for your quick response! :)
