multi-page? default measurement units? wizard?
(I attempted twice to join this list yesterday but never received an email asking to confirm. Please carbon-copy me on replies.)
Hello inkscape community:
Thank you for inkscape. I have a few comments/questions.
1) Multi-page documents? My wife made a brochure but didn't like having to have two separate files for the outside and inside of her document. Does the file format allow multiple pages? And where is this documented?
2) I want to have my grid and other measurements to be in inches. Where can the default units be defined so when I start up inkscape it shows inches? Where is this documented? (I know how to change it for one session or per document but I want it as the default -- and should not require recompiling.)
3) My wife used to use commercial and proprietary software that had wizards and easy interface for making brochures and greeting cards. Using inkscape in addition to openclipart is a substitute, but still all the layout must be done, images found and saved, resized, etc.
Any thoughts on a wizard or a simple interface to help?

Not supported yet. I think SVG does not yet have this, so neither can we.

Possible in 0.41 (which will be out within days). Open an empty document, change it to inches, and save it as share/inkscape/templates/default.svg.

The closest we have right now are SVG tutorials. If you can write a tutorial on designing some specific item, please contribute it to the project.

SVG 1.2 is adding it, but the spec is not yet finalized. After many moons of being a bare skelton, though, last Nov it finally got fleshed out with actual content. Section 5 covers multipage. http://www.w3.org/TR/SVG12/multipage.html
