CAn Inkscape be set up so that it remembers the position and status of the various windows between sessions? (whether a global or document-specific setting) I'd just like to have the layer and the fill and stroke windows visible and in place whenever I start inkscape.

It does remember position of dialogs, but not their open/closed status.
