I'm unconvinced. Such an option could be useful separately, but usually I want to embed all the images, not just one. Making the slow, manual method of selecting each image by hand, right-clicking on it, and choosing 'embed' from the context menu easier to discover than the automatic method of clicking the 'embed all images' button or menu option, wherever it is, seems like a bad idea.
Fair enough, I see your point, but still right-clicking on a single image to embed just ONE or ALL make sense to me. It eliminates the need to find it from a pull-down menu.
Did you mean to reply off-list?
Well, technically, you are still finding it from a pull-down menu. I can't think offhand of a more logical place to put 'embed all' than on the image context menu, but it still seems a little non-obvious. In any case, it's still more obvious than were it is currently, so you'll get no objection from me.
I suppose the only way to really know is to try it out on novice users, but easier said than done.
Whoops! No, I did not mean to reply to you directly. My apologies.
I understand the point that you have made.
I have been burned by forgetting to embed images in the past. That's mostly my fault for forgetting (just like forgetting to make my text a path before giving my svg to others). However, if I had an "up-front" feature somewhere that would help me remember then maybe other users would find it handy too.
I'm no developer nor a bigwig in the community so I wouldn't expect anything that I suggest to go very far. Thank goodness for that. :)
