Stupid question, for which I apologise, but can anyone tell me how to apply a coloured stroke fill to an arrowhead end marker? The line that it terminates is filled and stroked to my satisfaction and I'd assumed that end markers would follow suit, but no, they remain stubbornly black. I've searched 'Help@ and Tavmjong's splendid Inkscape Guide to no avail, so here I am with what must be an FAQ.

Hi, I ran into the same quirk the other day; here's another vote for enhancement.
As a workaround, I think I did "convert stroke to paths".
Cheers, KJ

Thanks for the helpful response. The ultimate output of my image is a bitmap, so I can easily edit it at the pixel level. I was just hoping to apply the colour in the vector original.

I can think of three possible options for you at this moment. You can edit markers by hand in the SVG. Markers can contain arbitrary SVG elements so it can be absolutely anything including a line with other markers attached. Somewhere in some version of inkscape (I think 0.45 but you'd have to check the release notes) there is a python script entitled something similar to "recolor markers to match stroke". And lastly I believe there is a patch by John Cliff in the patch tracker that converts objects to and from marker definitions so that you may freely edit them on canvas.

That's what I was looking for! Very many thanks.
