Hello everyone, and happy Xmas! I noticed a small thing, dunno if it's a bug or not. Attached you will find:
- svgsource.svg This is the svg source of this test
- ink_0_44_1.pdf SVG file exported with Inkscape 0.44.1 (Sep 9 2006)
- ink_0_45_devel.pdf SVG file exported with Inkscape 0.45+devel (Dec 8 2007)
All the exports are made in commandline, using the following command: inkscape -z svgsource.svg --export-pdf=xxx.pdf --export-text-to-path
While stroke in ink_0_44_1.pdf seems correct, there are broken points in ink_0_45_devel.pdf (for example, look the top-left corner of the "B" letter).
Any thought about this? It works with a past version, what may cause this in the SVN i'm using?
Thanks in advance,
Alex
Alexander,
thanks for your investigation. This might be because we changed the rederer of pdf from internal (from scratch) to cairo based. check this in the document info of the pdf file. I noticed that you used cairo 1.2.6. This is very old. There was a big step in pdf starting from version 1.4.2
Pls check with newer version of cairo and if this problem stays pls file a bugreport on: https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape
BTW which version do you use?
Thx.

Adib, Thanks for your reply.
On the production machine i am using: Inkscape 0.45+devel Cairo 1.2.6 librsvg2 2.16.1
I am now downloading the latest Cairo to test it. The reason i still had 1.2.6 is simply because i have a Fedora 6 system, and 1.2.6 still seems the latests cairo version available with yum.
Will let you know (hopefully) soon, tnx for the hint!

Here's the same rendering performed with Cairo 1.4.12 Unfortunately, no luck. Same issue.
Bugreport filed as suggested, hopefully it will be a simple issue to solve.
