Re: Inkscape-user digest, Vol 1 #238 - 1 msg

Hi everyone, I have been trying to compile Inkscape .40rc3 for about a week now with no luck. I keep getting dependency errors. I am trying to compile on both SuSE 9.0 and Fedora Core 3 with the same error...I am not at the computers right now, so I can't remember the exact error. The main problem is that I easily compiled .39 on the SuSE system, but I don't know what I am missing with .40 and the subsequent releases. What packages are needed when going from .39 to the future versions?
Thanks, Lee

I suspect only newer versions, not new packages, are needed.
Under Debian, my 0.40pre2 build requires (to install)
Depends: libatk1.0-0 (>= 1.7.2), libc6 (>= 2.3.2.ds1-4), libfontconfig1 (>= 2.2.1), libfreetype6 (>= 2.1.5-1), libgc1, libgcc1 (>= 1:4.0), libglib2.0-0 (>= 2.4.7), libglibmm-2.4-1, libgtk2.0-0 (>= 2.4.4), libgtkmm-2.4-1, libpango1.0-0 (>= 1.6.0), libpng12-0 (>= 1.2.7), libpopt0 (>= 1.7), libsigc++-2.0-0 (>= 2.0.2), libstdc++5 (>= 1:3.3.4-1), libx11-6 | xlibs (>> 4.1.0), libxft2 (>> 2.1.1), libxml2 (>= 2.6.11), libxrender1, zlib1g (>= 1:1.2.1)
I expect you'll need the -devel packages of the above[0], also.
-trent [0] Or their SuSE / FC equivalents.
