I fixed the "polar bear in a snowstorm" problem with the eraser tool, in which it was always using the last style used and would be hard to see.

The preferences are now in the UI, and the defaults should be set up nicer.

Great! I have been screwing around with a dev release and I must say that the eraser tool is rather handy. Keep up the great work.
