The problem is not SourceForge. The problem is that this mailing list permits attachments, which is (for a number of reasons) a *very* bad idea. I am *one* of the admins, but not the only one. The project has a base list of the current admins that is quite easy to check. Just peek at the standard project summary page.

And again, I think that since just about every of the posts I saw you complaining about were spam & malware, just getting those down more *is* something that's appropriate for SourceForge.

Many users disagree with you, and tell us that small attachments are a *very* good idea. There are also ways to read the list without any of those (which have been pointed out to you and others). We have many users out there who have metered internet, and we try to keep sensitive to that. Again, we've also been told that it's good.

Also, keep in mind that more of our users are on Win32, and don't all have their own webspaces to post to.

Oh, and it was also pointed out to you that if you could get SourceForge to enable turning off attachments in digests, we would. Again, something very appropriate for SourceForge to do (especially since we admins can't do it).

I'm sorry that you feel so strongly about your one position, and not wanting to follow up on any of the other options, but we do try to balance the needs of the majority of our users (hence our production of Win32 builds among other things), and those are what drive the way we admin the lists (especially the users list).
