Hi,
Is there any way to save a drawing as eps, yet make inkscape keep saving to the svg file with 'save'? Right now, the 'save as' option switches the default 'save' to whatever format is selected in 'save as', which is not necessarily even a format that inkscape can read again. It's very easy to lose work this way.
In other words, is there a way to have the equivalent of 'export as'?
Thanks, Kasper

also I would second here for a separated "import" function separated from a normal "open".
I think this makes it more clear that this is not a native format (as svg, svgz, plain svg)

Import already exists - File->Import, or Ctrl+I.

HTH,
Adib.
As far as I can tell, this is already included as part of the program... I remember this function from as back as 0.42, though it might have been present in earlier releases.
