When will Inkscape be a Universal (PowerPC/Intel) Mac binary?
Not when but if, it depends on the availability of the necessary Mac Intel hardware and Mac developers.
There is a request in the tracker for Universal binaries with more details on the subject.

Thanks for the info. If my ISP would just support Linux I could just have 2 Linux computers instead of a Mac and Linux.

Hey all!
I have an Intel Mac but so far a single look at the compile instructions makes my hair go up ;-) Mainly, I do not want Fink on my OS X system... Is there a way to avoid installing Fink? If so, I'll be glad to compile all the libs and Inkscape itself.
I think that it will also be a little easier to make separate PPC and Intel builds, not a UB.
Artemiy.
