Hello Tav. I've read the 1st part with great interest and look forward to reading the second. I had no idea filters could achieve such realistic effects. I do have one complaint, though, on which you perhaps won't be able to do much: the text of your blog is ridiculously large, and no amount of Control+- in Firefox has any effect. This seems to be a common trend on many websites that I struggle to understand. Easier reading on small mobile devices? I don't know.
Apart from that, a fantastic tutorial.
Cheers, JFL
Hi Jean-François and Tav,
first of all thanks to Tav for publishing the finished tutorial. I much appreciate it.

I can reduce (or increase) the size of the text on my Firefox ( firefox-40.0.3 en-US from the x86-64 Linux binary tarball from mozilla.org ) on http://tavmjong.free.fr/blog/?p=1451 perfectly fine, so it seems like a local problem on your end. Can you share some details of your OS/distro/version/firefox-version/firefox-localisation/ and whether this is working in a new Firefox profile - see https://duckduckgo.com/?q=firefox%20profile%20manager .

I have Firefox 40.0.3 (en-GB I suppose), as provided by openSUSE Linux Tumbleweed. I'll see what happens with a new profile when I have more time over the weekend. Thanks for the suggestions.

You're welcome and I'll try to see if I can reproduce a similar problem in a VM or by someone who is using openSUSE Tumbleweed.

I've now tested Firefox 40.0.3 with that URL on an x86-64 openSUSE Tumbleweed VM. Ctrl+"+" and Ctrl+"-" work fine there, so it seems to be a local problem on your end.

Yes, I've just identified it myself as being introduced because I had a minimum size set in my Firefox preferences rather than the default value "none". I still think compliant webpages shouldn’t be affected by this. Thanks for helping me clarify the matter and sorry for the noise!
Cheers, JFL

You're welcome, and that's OK. Hopefully you learned an important tip about debugging (to always check in a new profile / user / etc.). I learned it from interactive with fellow contributors on the Mandriva Linux bug tracker.
