I have tried to change the font variant in the xml editor from normal to small caps, but after I do this in inkscape (xml editor) that property disappears as soon as I indicate set style. If take the file and then just type text and leave font variant normal in inkscape, but edit the font variant in a text editor the change stays, but once I open the file in inkscape the font is no longer what I specified even though in the xml editor I can see that it IS the font that I specified.

How do I make it so that I can SEE this change directly in inkscape?
