Dear All,
it seems that I have from time to time the problem that I can't select my drawing objects anymore! Just for your information, I am using Inkscape Version 0.45.1 on M$ Windows XP. I can double click on them, but nothing gets selected. The only way to select them is by opening the XML tree viewer and selecting the item there.
Does anybody know how to overcome this issue??
Best regards

Hi,
I can confirm that behaviour, but I really don't have a clue on how to reproduce it, as I didn't manage to find a stable way to make that happen.
While all the functionalities of Inkscape are still functional (I can save, open files, change document properties, switch between instruments etc...), it looks like the drawing area is blocked so I cannot select, draw, etc...
Saving the file, closing Inkscape and reopening the file always resolved the problem.
I still see that behaviour in the latest SVN versions, so if I find a way to reproduce it I'll file a bug report.
Molumen

Dear Momo,
thanks for your comment. I almost thought that I am alone on this. Next time I'll have to check if terminating Inkscape and restarting it will solve the issue for me too. Till now, this was scaring me a bit.
Best regards
Georg

Georg, Yes' that behaviour is a little scaring, specially when the work made in Inkscape isn't saved. Fortunately the freeze occurs only for the drawing area, other functions (and Save among them) are ok.
A huge help for Inkscape developers would be to determine under what circumstances that bug occurs. For now I didn't manage to find a way to reproduce it. Hopefully you'll be luckier than me!
Thanks! Molumen (aka Momo)
