Strange closing with the Document Settings dialog
I noticed a unexpected behaviour with the Document Settings dialog:
This dialogue has in its windows 7 version on the right upper corner the three usual windows buttons Minimize, Maximize, and Close. I had expected that this buttons would minimize, maximize or close only the document settings dialogue. However, the close or minimize the entire inkscape windows, that is also the drawing window. This should be changed since it is unexpected and not plausible. I would suggest they work only on the dialog, not the whole application.
Kind regards and Happy New Year
Bernhard
Hi Bernhard, I'm pretty sure that's a known issue (or I would have reported a long time ago).
However, I recently discovered good alternative (which I certainly hope is not a bug itself). Below the window's titlebar is another sort-of titlebar, that's used for docking or undocking the dialog. It has a tiny right-pointing arrow and x button on the right side. When the dialog is docked, the tiny arrow can reduce the docked dialog to what amounts to a minimized position within the docking area. And the tiny x button closes it, but keeps it docked.
What I recently discovered is that those tiny buttons, even though the dialog is not docked, have the same effect, as if it was docked. So you can temporarily get undocked (larger) dialogs out of the way, and bring them back (without having them squeezed into the docking area)!
I did a little happy dance when I discovered it :-)

Hi Brynn,
I know this tiny square with the x in it, but it is really tiny and am have problems on targeting the mouse for health and mouse reasons. The upper right corner of a window is much more straight forward, but in inkscape it does the wrong thing and one has always to be aware of it.
