how can one control the export bitmap quality
I've made a poster of 5000 x 8000 pixels (the canvas in document preferences). I would to print it as is, without losing one single pixel of resolution of the images I've stitched into the poster.
I would appreciate some clarifications:
- How is one to print the poster now at maximum quality?
- Can I choose to export to eps? I did that two weeks ago in an ubuntu-dapper machine, but now in this kubuntu-dapper laptop I can't see how to export to eps from the Inkscape's menus.
- How can one control the quality of the saved .png when exporting a bitmap? How does the '90' DPI default resolution in inkscape preferences relate to this?

It is not available in the Save As dialog? Then you may not have installed a needed dependency, I would guess ghostscript

With a value of 90 DPI the resulting bitmap will have the same size (5000 x 8000 pixels) as your canvas. Increasing/decreasing the value will result is a larger/smaller size for the exported bitmap. You could create the SVG in Inkscape using a 500 x 900 canvas and export at 900 DPI for a 5000 x 9000 resulting bitmap. You can also use DPI to calculate the size of the export in length units (centimeters, millimeters, inches).
